Paintings & Prints at the Herb Pot Bistro
When Shelley and Alan re-decorated the Herb Pot Bistro
recently, some friends and patrons suggested that the walls would make a
very good hanging space for original art, and they happened to know of an
artist...
In an exploratory meeting, the walls were shown to the
artist, and the art to Shelley and Alan. The walls and the art looked so
good together that the exploratory meeting was ended, and the decision was
made to hang the art there and then.
Thus, the Herb Pot took up the duty of eateries to art
that has become traditional since the unknown, young Picasso frequented
"The four cats" in Barcelona. Diners love to be surrounded by
art: artists would love to to eat.
The art is paintings and prints. The artist is Daphne
Gradidge, who exhibits in London, but is resident at the edge of the New
Forest, near her childhood home. Her linocuts, monoprints and paintings
will continue to hang in the Bistro throughout the year.
