About Us

Shelley and Alan 

Shelley Richards, chef proprietor and her partner, Alan Rogers, warmly welcome you to the Herb Pot Bistro.

Shelley commenced her career as a chef at Windsor castle, cooking for clergyman, deans and the occasional royal! After working in various hotels in the south, she took a break to raise a family. Shelley has now returned to the kitchen with a renewed enthusiasm, running her own business here in the New Forest. Although shy, she is sometimes seen out of the kitchen at the end of the evening chatting to customers!

The Restaurant

Our restaurant can seat up to 40 people in one sitting, and provides an intimate and comfortable environment for guests. 

Alternatively, in the summer, dine al Fresco in our secluded herb garden.

Birthdays and Celebrations

Celebrate your birthday in style at the Herb Pot. We can arrange cakes; special requests etc. while you enjoy your special day. 

Alternatively, if you’re stuck on finding that special present, consider buying a Herb Pot dinning voucher.

Large Groups and Parties

Why not book the whole restaurant for your special occasion? If you would like a specially designed menu talk to Shelley and she will be pleased to design a menu of your choice at a price that fits your budget.

Corporate Lunches 

The Herb Pot is available for corporate and business lunches throughout the week. If your time is short, orders can be placed in advance and Shelley will freshly prepare your food so that it is ready upon your arrival. Special prices are available for regular business bookings.
